Pointe Aux Barques was established in 1876, and is still active today. The light is an 89 foot tall conical, brick structure that also serves as a museum with shipwreck and maritime memorabilia. There is also a campground that is directly adjacent to the lighthouse. Legend has it that a young girl haunts the house.
