The Bois Blanc Island Lighthouse was first established in 1829, and is located on the northeast horn of Bois Blanc Island. It is square in shape and constructed of brick. The light is in an isolated area that juts out from the island. It is a dangerous place for boaters traveling from Lake Michigan to the Georgian Bay. The lighthouse is now a private residence that has an attached keeper's quarters. It stands 17 feet tall, and the island is accessible by boat. |
